Chuck Husick Chuck is addicted to learning; to finding out the "why" of things; and to solving problems. In short, Chuck is an engineer. This addiction led to his invention and patenting of the worlds only self-cleaning sea water strainer. Working as an electronics engineer he has designed analog computers, worked on the Gemini manned space program, and was a senior executive in companies producing industrial X-Ray equipment, aircraft and marine radios, general aviation and airline aircraft and was Chairman & President of Chris Craft before starting his own consulting company.
He is a sailor (USCG Masters License, 100 ton), commercial pilot and
flight/instrument instructor, avid bicycle rider and photographer. He
writes for many of the leading yachting magazines and has taught courses
in marine diesel engines and marine electrical systems. His "Ask Chuck" column
in the BoatUS magazine provides him with readers' thought provoking questions
that spur additional learning.
Chuck is a member
of the BoatUS National Advisory Council, the Global Maritime Distress and
Safety System Task Force and the Board of Directors of the Radio Technical
Commission for Marine Services, the industry / government group that coordinates
