Last year the BUS Credit Card with MBNA was taken over by Bank of America. I see that the rebate program is still on going.
Can you explain to me what the 5% back is for all BUS members and still eligible for 3%?
"Please note that the Member Rewards program benefits (5% back) still apply for all BoatU.S. Members and you are still eligible for a 3% Rebate on your existing BoatU.S. 3% Rebate credit card when purchasing via the BoatUS online store www.boatus.com, BoatUS services, including any BoatU.S. Membership Program, such as Membership dues, annual towing fees, and even purchases at Cooperating Marinas (800+). "
When you shop at West Marine and use your BoatU.S. Membership card, you earn one point for every dollar spent. When you reach 300 points, you'll earn a $15 reward certificate for your next purchase (5% back).
Then when you use your BoatU.S. credit card you earn a 3% rebate on your BoatU.S. purchases (Membership dues, payments at Cooperating Marinas, towing dues payments and Insurance payments). Unfortunately you do not earn a 3% rebate for your purchases at West Marine because they have a competing credit card with a different bank. If you would like to earn points for all of your daily purchases, and two points for your marine related purchases, you can covert your 3% rebate credit card into the BoatU.S. WorldPoints credit card.
I have both cards. I use the 3% card exclusively for the program it was outlined for and the World Points Card for everything elce. Just didn't understand the 5% thing. Between the both I get back about $700 - $800 per year.
