We want to trailer our Seaward 25 to the Sanibel Island, Fl area and live aboard for 2 months before coming back to Ohio.  We are finding marinas to dock the boat but none that will allow us to live aboard.  Is this the case all over Fl.?  Does any one know of a marina in this area that will allow live aboard for 2 months?

try: marinas.com
search by location then call them.
If you want to be a bit further north (englewood area, try: Palm Island Marina. We took 2 overnights there and liked it.
Restaurant, showers, pool, gas grills, pumpouts for the boaters.

I would not consider two months living aboard when you talk to marinas.  When you call and get a transient or short term dockage rate it is highly inflated and usually covers that the boat will be occupied for the duration.  Try when calling ask what a slip would be for the time given and leave it at that.  You may also have better luck doing two week stays at four marinas and just move around a bit.

Agree with John, staying aboard for a couple of months is not considered a liveaboard especially if you keep a home elsewhere. Ft Myers city marina can accommodate you as well, if they are not full.

"Living aboard" and "staying aboard" are two different things, although the definition is somewhat subjective.

"Living aboard" implies getting your mail, changing your state of residence, voter registration, etc.  "Staying aboard" is much like renting a condo for a couple weeks or a month.  Just a vacation or business trip.
